Ever wondered what’s made you the person that you are today? And I mean really wondered?

One of the best ways to up our game and improve, is to learn from others who have already achieved what we want to achieve. It’s called modelling.

By learning from others who have already done what we want to do, we can get a much clearer idea of the “road map” to get there, we get a clear target to aim for, we get living proof that it can be done, and it ensures that our focus remains firmly in the direction of where we’re going… instead of worrying about everything that might go wrong.

It’s also inspiring as hell. Everyone needs mentors to look up to.

Who do you look up to?

It could be parents, the owner of the company you work for, maybe business owners who run bigger businesses than you do, sports people, maybe even historical leaders of the past. But whoever they are, it’s very important to become aware of whether they truly are (or were) where you want to get to.

The owner of the company you work for may be wealthy, but if they’ve been divorced three times, they’re unhealthy and overweight, they’re disliked and depressed… is that a lifestyle that you want to aspire to live?

Jim Rohn says that we become the average of the people around us, so we’ve gotta be very careful about who we choose to learn from (whether consciously or subconsciously).

So how do we find the right mentors?

We need to be clear about what we want our life to look like. Then we need to find out who has already achieved what we want to achieve. And finally, we need to resonate with them.

In other words, we need to like them, we need to respect them, and we need to feel an emotional connection with who they are. If we don’t like them and we don’t agree with what they’re saying, we’re not going to gravitate towards them and we’re not going to make any progress in our own world. There’s no rapport.

The good news is that when you start studying from people who are at the absolute top of their respective fields, there tends to be some very common themes between the messages that they’re all putting out there.

The mentors at the top will naturally all study from each other as well and be very in touch with their industry, and so they’ll naturally pick up very similar ideas along the way.

This means that you’re free to find, and learn from, the mentors who you truly resonate with…

You get to pick and choose without fear of really missing out on the bulk of the important stuff.

If you’re in complete rapport with them, their lessons will sink in a hell of a lot more effectively, you’ll be inspired, and you’ll have a much deeper drive to go and actually do what they tell you to do, rather than forgetting about them after 10 minutes and moving on with your life exactly the same as before.

A handful of my mentors of choice who I really resonate with are Tony Robbins, Simon Sinek, Bob Proctor, Stuart Ross, Jay Kubassek, and Justin Woolf.

I’m fortunate enough to personally know the final three on that list, because I receive one on one guidance and mentoring from them through SFM. They’re all 8 figure entrepreneurs and owners of multiple multi-million dollar businesses.

I spent over a week with them in Brisbane a couple of months back, and in 10 days’ time I’ll be flying out to the Dominican Republic to spend more time with them again.

I’m extremely fortunate to have come across them, but it wasn’t by luck. It was because I was looking for it, and then I recognized the opportunity to get involved with them when it popped up in front of me via a video on YouTube.

If you want to find out more about how to get involved in the same community and learn how to create a life of your dreams from these awesome mentors, along with a lot more who I haven’t mentioned, you can find out how it works here. Then, enter your email address into the bottom of the page to receive a completely free 7 day video series from me that explains everything in detail.

The more time that we can spend around others who will help us become better, the better we become. SFM has a huge number of different mentors from vastly different backgrounds, and since there’s so much choice, members within the community always find mentors who they resonate with.

You’ve been doing this your whole life already

Ever been involved in something where you felt like you were the least equipped or skilled out of everyone around you? Bet you pretty quickly upped your skills, your game and rapidly got better. Maybe you eventually even became the best.

When you learnt to drive, bet you learnt from a driving instructor and not a group of people who also didn’t know how to drive, right? By spending more time with your driving instructor, you got better every day.

You could have spent all the time in the world with others who also didn’t know how to drive, but it wouldn’t have taught you how to drive. It was the simple act of putting yourself around someone who had already achieved what you wanted to achieve, that meant you could quickly improve.

How much harder would it have been trying to learn how to drive by yourself? Also probably illegal… but that’s not the point 🙂

Thanks for reading, and if you do resonate with this then I look forward to seeing you on the other side, and having the opportunity to continue to learn alongside you within the SFM community moving forwards.

Thanks in advance,
