Donation to Ukrainian Humanitarian Supplies & Defense

£5.00

The events that are happening in Ukraine at the moment are utterly unacceptable, and we refuse to sit back and do nothing about it.

For the last 6 years, my friend Jon has run a CGI company, with his team (circa 50 3D artists) based in Ukraine. During this time both of us have visited Ukraine many times. We have great friends there and have always experienced nothing but the warmest of welcomes whenever we’ve visited. Over the last few days though, their situation has become very difficult.

Jon & his team in Ukraine

Jon’s team are currently fleeing from Kyiv, Kharkiv and other cities, heading towards Lviv where they hope to find refuge. He has been in constant contact with his team to help them in any way possible through this tragic time, I have had an inside line into what’s been going on as and when it’s been happening.

Tim (the CEO of the company Jon partners with) reached out to us with information about the current situation, how we might be able to help with donations and where that money will be going. Tim has already donated $30,000 to the Ukrainian army, and to humanitarian teams aiding refugees as they travel East to Lviv (near the Polish border). Additionally, he and many others in his team are raising as much money as possible to support the heroes protecting their people and their country. Jon & I have personally donated to them directly too.

For the short term, it is clear how we can help – by making it as easy as possible for you to donate and help support the humanitarian relief efforts of our contacts on the ground in Ukraine as best as we can. Here’s how you can help:

100% of any amount you donate through this donation page on Scrap the 9 to 5 will be converted to UAH (Ukraine’s currency), which will then will be wired directly to the accounts of our contacts in Ukraine. This will enable them to continue supporting and funding the humanitarian and defensive efforts of the Ukrainian heroes who are fighting for their homes, their families, and their lives. Doing it this way ensures an easy way for you to make a real difference and a direct financial lifeline to our colleagues and friends who need all the help they can get.

Ukraine’s inspiring bravery has been nothing short of remarkable, but it’s time for us all to step up and do everything that we can to ensure that the Ukrainian people have loved ones, homes, and a country to go back to once Putin and his disgusting tirade is bought to its knees. It’s time for us to stand together and respond how we’d want the rest of the world to respond if it was our families and country that was going through what Ukraine is going through right now.
