People’s lives are a direct reflection of the expectations of their peer group.

Think about that for a second.

In other words, the people around us are dictating how hard we push ourselves, by what they’re expecting us to achieve.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you’re suddenly surrounded by high performers? Didn’t you feel that you needed to instantly up your game to come up to their level?

When we’re thrown into a situation where we’re “out of our depth”, we’re generally forced to step up, because our new peers expect us to.

So we need to use this to our advantage. If we know that by surrounding ourselves with a certain type of person we’re going to get a certain type of result, then we need to choose the right type of people to surround ourselves with for the result that we want to achieve.

If we wanted to become a professional race car driver and we surrounded ourselves with bankers, we’re probably not going to become a great race car driver. We’re going to start talking, acting and thinking like a banker.

Likewise if we wanted to become a professional banker and we surrounded ourselves with race car drivers, the opposite’s going to happen.

But people do this in real life all the time

So many of us try to set out in business for example, but we’re still surrounded by our friends or loved ones who are all employees.

Their expectations are going to constantly drag you right back to where you’re trying to get away from. It’s not their fault, it’s just because they think a certain way, and they want you to think like them.

When you start to break away from how they see the world (In other words their expectations), it seems scary, weird and out of their comfort zones. So out of love for you, they’re going to want to bring you back to the safe place that they understand because they want you to be safe too.

So through their expectations, you’re likely to stay firmly stuck in place.

But now flip it on its head. Imagine you surround yourself with high performing business owners when you set out in business. What do you think their expectations are going to do to your results?

They’re going to give you the right advice, help you think the right way, and force you to step into their world to achieve those kind of results. If you want to succeed at something, you must surround yourself with people who have already achieved what you want to achieve.

So if you do want to create an online business that gives you total time and financial freedom for example, do you reckon that surrounding yourself with an entire community of people who are achieving results is gonna help you get there yourself?Pretty obvious right?

SFM’s community is by far one of the most valuable resources that we all have at our disposal as an SFM member. By jumping into the same world as others who are achieving the results, we start to see what’s possible, understand how people got their, understand how they think and act, and therefore how we can do that ourselves.

All skepticism over whether we can do something completely disappears when everyone around us is already doing it. Their expectations force us to up our game, and we become better as a result. You can get started with SFM and get involved in the same community that I’m a part of right here

Once we take action, our perspective changes

It’s easy to let our own feelings rule us. We’ll feel unsure about something and so we won’t take action, but by taking action and throwing ourselves into that same thing, we’d have been able to see it from a more informed perspective and therefore feel certain instead of unsure.

We’ll feel skeptical about something and so we won’t take action, but by taking action we’d have understood it more and therefore wouldn’t have been skeptical about it.

It’s a trap that many of us fall into, and it’s a catch 22.

So what I’m saying is that if creating a life of time and financial freedom sounds good to you, but the little voice in your head is making you feel unsure, uncertain, skeptical, overwhelmed or anything else… recognize that once you get started and you’re on the other side of the table, that voice will disappear. Because your perspective will have changed.

And hell if it doesn’t change and you decide it’s not for you, you’ve got a 30 day money back guarantee so there’s literally zero risk whatsoever.

Time to make a change

If we want to achieve something, we need to make sure our own feelings don’t stop us before we’ve even started.

Personally once I decided what I wanted to achieve, I adopted the mindset of “whatever it takes”. Nothing was going to stop me creating that lifestyle, and I overcame my own feelings to take action and move forwards. I’m so grateful to “past me” that I did, because otherwise I’d still be working in an unfulfilling career wishing I could get out.

If you want to break free of an unfulfilling life too, then take action and get started here. If you’re unfulfilled in what you’re doing, don’t let that take over any more of your life. You owe it to yourself to live whatever life you want to live, and in this digital economy we can all create a life of free.

I’ll see you on the other side,

Dan
