A Bit About Me

Hey, I’m Dan Holloway and I’m a digital entrepreneur.

In simple terms this means that I run a business on the internet, and use automated systems to get my message in front of people who would find value in what I’m doing.

I’m also an affiliate marketer, which means that I recommend great products and services to others who I believe will find value in those products and services, and then I receive a commission for doing so.

This process is largely automated, so my business runs whether I’m working on it or not.

My vision is to help others to create lives of complete freedom as well, and I do this by helping people to learn from the exact same mentors that I have learnt from, to get to where I am.

Do you ever look at your own life as chapters? I do. I feel that each chapter in your life represents not only what you did and what kind of path you were on, but more importantly it gives you a distinct insight into who you actually were as a person during that period.

The end of each “chapter”, is usually a point where you have a radical breakthrough, realization, or a total pivot in the direction that you’re going. This might be acting for the first time on an idea, reaching a point where you decide that enough is enough, or finally admitting to yourself to let go of something in your past.

I’m mentioning this because my entire life and everything that I have now, hinges on one, single decision that I made around 7 years ago.

My Story

I was working for a company called Everest, selling double glazing. I was in my early 20’s and was suddenly earning a lot more money than I ever had in the past.

I quickly developed a belief that I could just earn more money on demand whenever I wanted, which in turn put me on a very self-destructive path of spending insane amounts of money needlessly.

Over time I started finding it much harder to motivate myself to actually work, my spending was going up and up, but my income dropped massively as I lost my drive. Long story short, 2 years later I was over £30,000 ($40,000) in debt.

Coming to the end of a destructive “chapter” in my life

I buried my head in the sand and just continued with my lifestyle, because every time I thought of the massive problem I was creating for myself I felt like a failure. I was completely lost, I was depressed, and I didn’t know who I was anymore. I was out of control.

Eventually the “Final notice” letters from finance companies started turning into “Court summons” letters, then for the first time I sat back, braced myself, and actually looked at who I’d become. Let me tell you, that hurt. A lot!

I was so ashamed of myself. I’d created a self-image in my mind of who I thought I was, but that was a complete lie. It was a smokescreen covering the truth of how badly I was failing.

“Acceptance is the first step to recovery” they say, and this was especially true in this case. Once I confronted the truth, the smokescreen disappeared, and I had nothing to hide behind anymore.

I had an absolutely mammoth task ahead of me to get myself out of the situation I’d got myself into, but I made a commitment to myself that I was going to do whatever it took, starting right now. That commitment turned out to be the biggest turning point of my life…

I was probably pulling this face in disgust at my financial situation…

The Transition

I got a job as a software sales person at a company called Lead Forensics, and for the next 4 years I battled every day to become better and better, and drag myself out of the hole I’d created.

There were times while going through the transition that I doubted myself, and there were times when I wanted to give up. But something deeper within me kept forcing me to push forwards, and to make sure that every single day I would become better than I was the day before.

Gradually I went from the bottom of the sales floor to the consistent top 2 globally, through constantly developing myself and my skills. Obviously the better I got, the more my income increased.

Top of the Empire State. It was -18 degrees that day, coldest I’ve ever been!

Over 2 years ago now, I paid off my last penny of debt and experienced the greatest feeling of freedom and accomplishment that I could possibly imagine.

This then created a foundation for an entirely new belief; that I have the ability to do absolutely anything that I set my mind to. This belief then led to the start of a new chapter in my life which really ramped up a few months ago, when I left my job at Lead Forensics to start my own online business!

The courage, grit and determination that I learnt from taking control of the financial train wreck that I’d created, created the bravery within me that it took to leave a near 6 figure job to pursue my vision and create the life of freedom that I’ve always wanted.

Through my business, I now want to help others to do the same.

My Vision

“To Help And Inspire As Many People As I Can To Become Financially Free And Live The Life They Truly Want.”

In my experience, the majority of people will run the “This life is OK but I can’t expect much more than that because I don’t have enough money” kind of dialogue. I want to help people dare to actually dream of the greatest life for themselves that they can possibly imagine.

Then, I want to help them to find the courage and the bravery within themselves to start creating that perfect life, without stopping in the face of fear, or at the first obstacle or hurdle. When a challenge arises, I’ve now learnt to ask myself “How can I use this challenge as an opportunity to grow?”. Because if there’s one thing I now know, it’s that the biggest challenges will push us outside of our comfort zones and force us to become more resourceful and stronger.

The only single thing that holds a person back from creating whatever they want in their lives, is themselves. Absolutely no exception.

“70% of US employees hate their jobs” according to Forbes magazine.

That’s absolutely terrifying, right? Imagine if those people were inspired and motivated instead of unfulfilled. Just imagine if they were doing something that they loved. What would that do to the world? How incredible would everything start to become?

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the light in someone else’s eyes when they make a breakthrough and realize that they truly can achieve something that they didn’t think they could. This is the single biggest motivator for me, and although that wasn’t my aim when I first started this journey, this desire to help others has quickly overtaken anything else that I initially felt was important.

My Values

  • FOCUS: Focus is absolutely critical to success. The ability to laser in on one thing has served me massively over my life to help me achieve my goals. Gary Keller wrote a book called “The One Thing” which covers this well.
  • DETERMINATION: I value drive and determination very highly. I’ve learnt that hard work will get you results, and focused hard work will get you great results.
  • BRAVERY: Combine focus and determination with bravery, and you become absolutely unstoppable. Bravery helps me crush any limiting beliefs that are standing between me and my goals. I’ve noticed that one of the biggest reasons that many fail, is because they’re not brave enough to keep going. They sabotage their own success because they can’t overcome their fear. Whenever I feel fear now I welcome it, because it shows that I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone, meaning that I’m on the edge of an opportunity to grow stronger.
  • CURIOSITY: I love learning, I love trying new things, and I love hearing about other’s life experiences. Curiosity has got me in a whole lot of trouble multiple times, for example getting wedged in an underwater cave that I thought I’d go and explore in Ibiza. Or nearly getting washed out to sea when I lived in Holland as a kid, and thought I’d row my rubber dinghy into the North Sea to “Go and see the tanker ships”. But it’s also brought many incredible new experiences into my life as well.
  • HONESTY: This has always been a huge part of me throughout my entire life. Since my parents got divorced when I was 7, honesty became one of my core values. It goes hand in hand with honour, trust and loyalty. Letting others down gives me a deep feeling of shame, and I do anything to avoid the feeling of bringing negativity into the lives of others.
  • FREEDOM: I’ve really started to respect the power of freedom in the last few months. This is through self-experience of what it truly means to pursue the path of who you want to be, instead of following someone else’s vision. If you don’t have your own vision, you will become part of someone else’s.
  • EMPATHY: I always felt that it was my responsibility to look after my mum and little brother when I was growing up. Because of this I was very in tune with how they were feeling at any given time, and this taught me a precise level of empathy which has served me greatly throughout my whole life. Connecting with others and then helping them to grow is very important to me.
  • SUCCESS: I have a big drive towards success, but as I’ve started down my more recent path my view of success has broadened massively. I used to think success was all about money, but now I recognize that although wealth and abundance are a very important component of success, there are many other areas to be successful in as well.
